Hallowen Dinner

Happy Halloween my chic friends! In the spooky spirit of the season, I thought I'd share some photos from last years bloody dinner bash.

Each "victim" received an unmarked box, containing a weathered invite along with severed finger (I thought it was funny, but I apparently caused some nightmares)

Continuing the Dexter-esque gruesome scene, the dining table was splattered with blood, and scattered with bloody limbs and candleight.

Using a recipe found on my beloved Pinterest, the specialty drink of the evening was a Honeycrisp Apple Sangria, with cinnamon sugared rims.  However, most of the guys stuck to Miller Highlife...classy.

I must admit, the dessert was thrown together at the last minute.  Using my Mom's coveted recipe for Chocolate Crap...err I mean Chocolate "Divine," we added some yummy gummy worms to make it look like a pile of delicious dirt.

And finally for the favors.  Each dinner guest took home a mason jar mix for Hayes Halloween Brownies.  I can't remember our exact recipe, but you can find a similar one here, and some jack-o-lantern soap.  Daisy inspected each jar, to make sure we did a good job.

Happy Halloween, and stay safe tonight my chic trick-or-treaters.

Shave the Date

Have you noticed an increase in the amount of furry little creatures living under the noses of Houston men these days?  Well naturally that's because "Movember" is almost here!  This November, the men of Houston (and the women who support them!) are preparing to "bring back the moustache" and to raise awareness and funds for cancers that affect men. This year’s theme is “Movember & Sons” with an emphasis on the family and generational health.

But before they can grow for Movember, Mo-Bros must begin clean-shaven.

That's why SHAVE, Houston's premier gentlemen's barbershop, is graciously providing a complimentary 'straight' shave for all Movember participants on November 1 at Hotel Zaza, 5701 Main Street, from 6:00-9:00pm.

Want to get in on the furry fun?  Sign up at movember.com

Ladies want to show your support?  How about showing off your mustaches in the form of nail art as seen above:)

xoxo

Jenetiqa Launch Party October 19th

Having just turned another year older yesterday, I am so thankful that skin care like Jenetiqa exists.  If you aren't familiar with them, they are a Houston based company (woot woot!) that is based on the science of Ubiquinol.  I'm no scientist, but apparently Ubiquinol is an antioxidant that targets all signs of aging, with both quick and long lasting results.

So does it work? Well, first of all, I'm not a skin care expert by any stretch, but I'm a big fan. Jenetiqa is meant to be used as a day cream, night cream, and serum in one, which is completely awesome.  I can't stand keeping multiple bottles around, let alone taking the time to apply them all.  It feels clean and smooth going on, smells fantastic, and I can already tell a huge difference in the texture and appearance of my skin.

Want to give it a try?  Join Jenetiqa this Friday as they introduce La Collection Couture, while enjoying product samples, bites and prizes.
